Would you like up to £1,000 of your money back?
The tax-payer funded Learning and Skills Councils have a programme that is re-investing some of the money you have paid in taxes back into supporting Leadership & Management programmes. These are for owner managers and company directors of companies with between 5 and 249 Staff to help them develop their leadership skills.
A grant of up to £500 is available to owner managers and company directors so it costs nothing in the end but a the inevitable bit of admin.
A further grant of up to £500, is available to any senior manager or the management team but this must be matched pound for pound by the company. So if, for example, the programme were to cost £1,500 in total, the company would only have to pay only £500 - and that is not a bad deal at all.
This money can be put towards mentoring, coaching or training to benefit you and your business.
Training could be on any subject that would help the Director/Manager develop. For instance it could be:
High Performance Team building
Motivational training
Operating Strategically
Clear Communication
Or many other topics that will help your business achieve its goals.
To be eligible for funding the individual applying must:
- Be an owner manager, CEO, Director or Senior manager
- Be working in an organisation based with the M25 and which employs between 5 249 staff
- Not have had any previous training funded by this Leadership and management scheme since October 2007
How does the scheme work?
A skills broker visits you and signs you up to the programme. Someone is appointed to deliver the programme. If you already have a mentor or consultant in mind, you can have that person appointed. You pay that person and reclaim the relevant amount from the Learning and Skills Council. It could hardly be simpler.
